Ham Buns and Potato Salad is set in the fictional town of Hebron, Iowa (population 318). After a tragic accident, the town is preparing for the funeral of a local couple. Their son, Thomas, was an only child who left town after high school, twelve years earlier, and never returned. Thomas’ departure after high school coincided with a town scandal which has never been resolved and has simmered in the town’s collective conscience for over a decade. With his impending return, the town is buzzing with anticipation and the heat on the old scandal is raised to a full boil.
