Union Street Players, Pella’s award-winning community theatre, opens their 2017 season March 30th with the British comedy Noises Off. The play follows the cast of a stage production across three performances and humorously reveals the conflict and craziness that happens both on stage and back stage as things slowly unravel between cast and crew.
Noises Off requires one of the most complicated sets USP has ever built for a show. The set reveals what happens on stage during one act, then gets completely rotated to let audiences see what happens back stage in the next act. Director Denise Gregory and Set Designer Jim Palmer and Producer Deb Linn have gone above and beyond to pull off what some said couldn’t be done on the stage of the Joan Kuyper Farver auditorium.
Noises Off will be performed March 30, 31 and April 1 at 7:00 p.m. and April 2 at 2:00 p.m. on the stage of Joan Kuyper Farver Auditorium in the Pella Community Center (712 Union Street, Pella, Iowa). Tickets are available online. Tickets are $8 for Adults in advance and $10 at the door; $6 for Students in advance and $8 at the door.
