Tickets are now on sale for Union Street Players production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Tickets are available on-line which is the easiest and most efficient way to purchase. You can select your seat(s) for any performance, pay for them using a credit card, and print them from your home or office printer. Q: When I go on-line to pay for my tickets, it asks me about signing up for PayPal. Do you have to have a PayPal account to purchase tickets?
A: No. You do NOT need a PayPal account to purchase tickets! PayPal is the service we use to process our tickets and they will ask you if you want to sign-up for a PayPal account, but you do NOT need to do so. Simply look for and click on the link that says “Don’t have a PayPal account? Pay with your debit or credit card as a PayPal guest.” If you click on that link, an on-line form will open to enter your credit card and billing information. A PayPal account, log-in or password is never necessary to purchase tickets.
Q: Do you have to purchase on-line using a credit card?
A: No. While purchasing on-line is the most convenient and efficient way to purchase tickets, we know that some people do not have access to the internet or the ability to pay with a credit card. Those who fit into either of those categories may call the USP Box Office (641) 204-1094 and we will be happy to help make alternative arrangements to get your tickets. We do accept both checks and cash.
Q: Why can’t I buy tickets at the Pella Community Center office anymore?
A: Union Street Players is sponsored by the Community Center and the City of Pella has been most generous with us through the years. Their willingness to sell tickets for us was out of a kindness and service to our group when we didn’t have a good alternative. After years of benefiting from their generosity, USP felt that it was time to relieve the City and the Community Center staff from this burden. In addition, we were finding an increasing number of our audience members found it difficult to get to the Community Center office when it was open. Times are changing. Selling tickets on-line affords audience members the ability to purchase and print tickets 24 hours a day from the convenience of their home or office. We therefore opted to move our ticket sales online, but to provide the USP Box Office phone (641) 204-1094 for anyone who does not have a computer or who requires assistance making a ticket purchase using a check or cash.
Q: Where is the USP Box Office?
A: Union Street Players is a non-profit, all volunteer organization. We’re sorry that we do not have the human or financial resources to staff a physical Box Office location for the relatively small number of audience members who can’t purchase tickets on-line. The USP Box Office is a virtual Box Office. Technically, the Box Office is wherever the Box Office cell phone (641-204-1094) happens to be at any given moment. This allows our volunteers, if necessary, to pass the Box Office phone around so that different people can help manage it from their home or office. Tom and Wendy Vander Well (currently the USP President and Treasurer) are the primary Box Office volunteers. They keep the Box Office cell phone with them and answer it from their home in Pella. Tom and Wendy are happy to help walk you through an online purchase or make other arrangements.
Q: So, if I order my tickets on-line or call the Box Office How do I actually get the physical tickets?
A: If you order your tickets on-line, you will be provided with a link (at the end of your purchase and again in a follow-up e-mail) that allows you to print your tickets at home and bring them with you. If you do not have access to a printer, simply call the Box Office (641) 204-1094 and we can make arrangements to print the tickets for you, mail them to you, or have them waiting for you at the door.
Q: Can I purchase tickets at the door?
A: Yes. You can purchase tickets, subject to availability, at the door of any performance. Doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain and someone will be stationed at the ticket table outside the Joan Kuyper Farver auditorium in the Pella Community Center to assist you. Please note that some performances of popular shows are sold out in advance. Availability of seats for purchase at the door is not guaranteed. In addition, ticket prices at the door are higher than purchasing them in advance. Tickets may be purchased at the door with cash, check or credit card.
Q: Are people actually buying their tickets on-line?
A: Yes. The vast majority of our audience members are successfully purchasing their tickets on-line without incident. Occasionally, people encounter unusual problems with the process. If you encounter problems, don’t panic! Take heart! We have yet to experience a problem we couldn’t solve. Simply call our Box Office (641) 204-1094 and we’ll be happy to walk through the on-line purchase or assist you in making alternative arrangements.
