The Sound of Music opened last night to a sold-out audience. An amazing cast, led by Maria (Brystal Hopkins) and Captain Von Trapp (Spencer Vermeer), provided a crowd-pleasing show. Congratulations to director Deb Linn. More pictures!
The final dress rehearsal. The actors are ready. Lights, sound, open the curtain! We are now ready to present the Union Street Players summer musical, "The Sound of Music." Hopefully you've already bought your ticket because many reserved seats are sold out. General admission, balcony seating is still available, but call today, 641-620-9107.
Union Street Players is grieved to learn of the death of former local broadcaster, Dean Johnson. In his tenure as Pella News Director for KNIA/KRLS Radio, Johnson proved to be a huge supporter of local arts and USP. Johnson actively sought to promote USP through his noon "Let's Talk Pella" radio show. Dean was also a regular audience member.
Johnson was killed when he lost control of his car on Highway 61 near Red Wing, Minnesota. He had recently left his position at KNIA/KRLS to return to Wisconsin and be closer to family.
USP extends our sincere condolences to Dean's family and to his friends and co-workers at KNIA/KRLS.
A list of all shows produced by Union Street Players (USP) is now listed on the USP website. Go to www.unionstreetplayers.com and look on the right side bar. Under the heading of "USP Resources" you'll find a link to "Past Shows". The page lists USP productions chronologically. Perfect for a trip down memory lane!
Thanks to Carolyn Scharff for asking if the list was posted on-line and prompting the idea!
