Audience members at this weekend’s performance of Morning’s at Seven have been treated to more than just a wonderful comedy. Union Street Players has provided cheesecake and hot coffee for theatre-goers at intermission. Being a non-profit organization, USP has served the refreshments on a free-will donation basis to cover costs.
The idea of serving the cheesecake was that of Wendy Vander Well, who has worked over the past two weeks to produce the fourteen cheesecakes that will be served throughout the run of the show. Vander Well’s effort yielded a variety that includes New York Style, Grasshopper, Chocolate, Key Lime, Tiramasu, and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk. All of them have been a hit with audiences. The normal fifteen-minute intermission has been extended five minutes each night to accommodate audience members pleasuring their taste buds!
There are two more opportunities to get in on the laughter and the cheesecake. Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. and the Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m.
